Scholarships ready for students



COLUMBUS -- Scholarships totaling more than $25,000 are available to engineering students in Ohio through the Engineers Foundation of Ohio.
EFO promotes study of math, science and engineering through scholarships and educational programs. The organization awarded 12 scholarships to Ohio engineering students in 2005.
EFO is a nonprofit organization established in 1964 by the American Society of Professional Engineers, and sponsors educational programs such as MATHCOUNTS for junior high pupils and Tests of Engineering Aptitude Mathematics and Science (TEAMS) for high school students.
To qualify for most EFO scholarships, applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents of Ohio and be graduating high school seniors admitted to an engineering program approved by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology at an Ohio engineering college or University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Ind.
Candidates must also meet the minimum academic standards of an SAT score of 600 in math and 500 in verbal, or an ACT score of 29 in math and 25 in English, and a 3.0 grade point average.
