Scrappers to open 2006 season June 20

NILES -- The Mahoning Valley Scrappers will open the 2006 season June 20 on the road against the Jamestown Jammers. The team announced its schedule Thursday.
The home opener at Eastwood Field is June 23 against the Williamsport Crosscutters. The opener will include a fireworks show presented by Time Warner Cable.
The Scrappers, Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, play a 76-game schedule in the New York-Penn League, including 38 home games at Eastwood Field.
The league's All Star game will be played Aug. 16 in Aberdeen, Md.
The Scrappers have gold books available at their kiosk located at center court at the Eastwood Mall through Saturday. Each gold book, for $70, includes 12 box seat ticket coupons, two free hot dog coupons, two free drink coupons, two free popcorn coupons and two free fun zone coupons. With each gold book purchase the Scrappers will give away a collectible Victor Martinez figurine.
