Division II Ashland tops Hiram

ASHLAND -- Justin Brown scored 18 points to lead Ashland over Hiram, 77-57, Thursday night.
Brown also had a team-high 11 rebounds and six assists for the Eagles (8-3), a Division II school. Greg Emmons and Vaughn Knight added 17 points each for Ashland, which led 33-29 at halftime.
Hiram (2-6) was led by Rick Baldwin (Boardman) with 15 points, while A.J. White and Emeka Mbanefo added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Ian Pfouts had six rebounds and White had three assists.
Hiram led 24-22 with 4:51 remaining in the first half, but Javan Roberson gave the Eagles the lead for good with a 3-point basket 17 seconds later.
Ashland began the second half with an 11-2 run for a 44-31 lead. The margin was below double figures only once (45-36) before the Eagles quickly regained control.
