AARN prepares for 2006 season by electing new board members



Support for families dealing with Alzheimer's is the board's primary concern.
CANFIELD -- The Alzheimer's Assistance and Referral Network elected board members for 2006, prepared a budget and made plans for expanded services to local families during an annual membership meeting held Nov. 20 at Lane Funeral Center.
Inducted as members of the board of directors were Patricia A. McQuillan, Patricia Evans-Morris and Patty Kimerer.
Rounding out the board of directors are the re-elected and current members, the Rev. Ted Schaffer, president; Carol Cadman, vice president; JoAnn Reese, secretary; McQuillan, treasurer; and Evelyn Chamberlain, Patricia Corsale, Mary Ann Frank, Lois Eastlick, Patricia Honen, Maria Laskay, Karen Lamar, Sandra Pope, Atty. Robert Rusu and Bruce Zimmer.
The organization plans to continue providing ten area support groups, quarterly caregiver educational seminars, and an information line and personalized family meetings for those dealing with Alzheimer's disease.
Fund-raising activities were discussed, and plans were made to emphasize more educational aspects of service and to promote the use of Medic Alert bracelets, which will soon be available to patients.
