Staffers receive increase in pay



Township secretaries and administrative staff also will receive longevity pay.

MINERAL RIDGE -- Weathersfield Township trustees have doled out 3 percent pay increases to township administrators and clerical employees effective Jan. 1.
Trustees also will receive a cost-of-living raise of about 3 percent in the new year.
A spokesman for the Ohio Township Association said the trustee raises are determined by the lesser of two numbers: 3 percent or the Consumer Price Index rating for the previous year. The CPI for 2005, per the United States Department of Labor, is 5.2 percent.
Fred Bobovnyk, trustee board president, said trustees currently make $11,463 annually.
The raise for William Roux, township attorney, will be at a rate of $2,250 per month, an increase of $250. His last increase was two years ago.
Other increases
Others receiving increases were:
UJudie Jendrasiak, secretary, an additional 45 cents and hour, from $15.17 an hour to $15.62
UDebbie Lindenmuth, police secretary, a 37-cent increase from $12.51 an hour to $12.88
UPolice Chief Joseph Consiglio, a $1,487.20 salary increase from $49,604.80 to $51,092.
UPolice Capt. Michael Naples, a $1,346.31 increase from $44,877 to $46,223.31.
UTownship Administrator David Pugh, a $1,628 increase from $54,270.70 to $55,898.70
UZoning Inspector Sherri Craver, a $954 increase from $31,827 to $32,781.
UFire Chief Randy Pugh, a $318 increase from $10,609 to $10,927.
UAssistant Fire Chief Ken Boring, a $207 increase from $6,901 with to $7,108.
In addition, trustees gave a new "extended-service" bonus, similar to longevity pay, to Consiglio, Pugh, Craver, Jendrasiak and Lindenmuth.
The employees will receive 75 percent of the longevity pay based on years of service in a lump sum, as follows: 5 to 9 years, $187.50; 10 to 14 years, $375; 15 to 19 years, $562.50; 20 to 24 years, $750; 25 years or more, $937.50.
Township firefighters also were given a raise of 50 cents per call, bringing their per-call rate to $9, and ranking officers will be increased to $9.50 a call.
Trustees also named Ken Rambo to a new five-year term on the township's zoning appeals board effective Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2010.
