A summary of recent police activity in Hubbard and Liberty:
HUBBARD
Dec. 14
Arrest: Poland Village Police picked up a Hubbard woman wanted on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in court. The original charge was failure to pay 2003 income taxes.
Theft: A Hillview Drive man discovered the front license plate stolen off his car.
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a residence in the 100 block of Tulip Drive.
Theft: An employee at Devine's Shop 'n' Save, 529 N. Main St., reported the theft of two coin trays and money.
Dec. 16
Theft: A Wrenfield Drive woman reported her daughter's cellular phone was stolen from Bell Wick Bowl, 6105 W. Liberty St.
Dec. 17
Arrest: Austintown police picked up a Hubbard man wanted on a warrant from Girard Municipal Court charging him with theft.
Dec. 18
Vandalism: A woman in the 900 block of Jerry Street reported her mailbox, as well as two other people's boxes, was damaged.
Dec. 19
Criminal mischief: Someone tried to break into a vehicle parked at Mageros Candies, 132 N. Main St.
LIBERTY
Dec. 13
Drugs: Officers arrested a 22-year-old man at his Holly Drive residence on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
Assault: A girl alleged a Youngstown man, 27, shoved a couch into her brother's chest and tried to choke him at their Church Hill Road residence. The victim told police he passed out.
Theft: A man in the 4700 block of East Drive said someone stole a $150 snow blower he had in his yard for sale.
Theft: An employee at Liberty Arms Assisted Living Residence, 1353 Church Hill Road, discovered $691 stolen.
Dec. 14
Drugs: Police arrested a Girard man, 21, on a charge of drug possession (marijuana).
Dec. 15
Assault: Police took a 12-year-old girl into custody after responding to a fight on a school bus near Trumbull Avenue and Green Acres Drive. The victim, 13, sought medical treatment after being punched in the left eye and having swelling and redness there.
Theft: Someone removed two $450 newspaper boxes in the 500 block of Gypsy Lane.
Dec. 16
Assault: A worker at Belmont Pines Hospital, 615 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, told police a girl, 15, struck another patient's head several times against the floor and pulled some of the 14-year-old victim's hair out.
Dec. 17
Arrest: A 19-year-old man was taken into custody at his Logan Gate Road apartment on warrants charging him with aggravated burglary and felonious assault.
Arrest: Police took a Niles woman, 28, into custody at the Mahoning County Jail. She was wanted on a warrant charging her with failure to appear on a count of unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Breaking and entering: Someone used a rock to smash the front-door window at Rent-a-Center, 3551 Belmont Ave. Stolen were two digital camcorders, a digital camera and four other items, and the loss came to more than $1,800.
Dec. 19
Burglary: Someone broke into a home in the 1700 block of Pleasant Valley Road and stole a 36-inch TV, a computer and a color monitor, resulting in a $1,350 loss.
Recovered property: Police found a Ford Escort that had been stolen in Howland abandoned at an apartment complex in the 10 block of Holly Drive.
