Ambulance collides with pickup truck
BAZETTA -- Four Cortland men were treated for minor injuries at St. Joseph Health Center after a collision on Elm Road just north of state Route 305 between a Bazetta Fire Department ambulance and a pickup truck.
The two paramedics were trapped for 30 minutes in their overturned ambulance, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The ambulance was southbound, with lights and sirens activated, responding to an emergency call at 1 p.m. Tuesday, when the pickup truck turned left in front of the ambulance, and the vehicles collided, the patrol said.
The ambulance, driven by Michael White, 29, veered off the road into a ditch and rolled over onto the driver's side, and Bazetta and Cortland firefighters freed White and his co-worker, David Walter, 37.
The pickup was driven by Jonathan Price, 19, with his father, James Price Jr., 43, as his passenger. The younger Price was cited for failure to yield to a public safety vehicle.
