"A Home for the Holidays" (8 p.m., CBS): Jamie Lee Curtis hosts the seventh annual "A Home for the Holidays" special, which benefits homeless children. Scheduled performers include Sheryl Crow, Toni Braxton, Yolanda Adams and the Goo Goo Dolls.
"Yellow Brick Road (7 p.m., Cinemax): Camp Anchor, a suburban New York City program for physically and mentally disabled children and adults, is the setting for this documentary. The film follows members of the group, from casting to opening night, as they prepare to stage a production of "The Wizard of Oz." At dress rehearsal, it seems the whole production is about to fall apart -- but come opening night, the group gives its audience plenty to cheer about.
"The Nightingale" (8 p.m., PBS): Combining animation and live-action sequences, this new version of Igor Stravinsky's fairy-tale opera features the music of the Paris National Opera Orchestra and Chorus. French soprano Natalie Dessay also stars. The piece was Stravinsky's first opera and is based on Hans Christian Andersen's familiar tale in which an emperor receives a mechanical nightingale as a gift. Its songs rival those of his real bird, who flies away, heartbroken -- but when the emperor is dying, the bird returns and drives death away. This new interpretation includes both the traditional and the high-tech -- including, yes, a cell phone.
