South Range school board lauds 2 members
NORTH LIMA -- The South Range Board of Education recognized two of its members for their dedication to the school district over the past several years.
The school board, at its monthly meeting Monday, passed resolutions acknowledging the service of Mark Witmer and Alan Wenger, who are each leaving the board at the end of this year. Witmer has been a member of the school board since 2002, and Wenger has been a member since 1986. Witmer was defeated in his re-election bid in November. Wenger did not seek re-election.
In other news, the board hired Paul Kiselica as a substitute bus driver on an as-needed basis. Jason Ray was appointed an unpaid volunteer assistant to the varsity boys basketball coach.
The board also approved a family violence prevention policy that calls for the district to offer pupils and employees a safe, supportive environment and to further the awareness, education and protection of children and families.
