Hannon's 31 not enough in loss



Wooster's 133-110 win over Westminster set a record for most combined points at Wooster's gym.
WOOSTER -- Westminster sophomore Craig Hannon scored a career-high 31 points but it wasn't enough as the Titans fell to Wooster 133-110 in a non-conference game on Sunday.
Hannon, a Union High graduate, shot 10 of 19 from the field and made a career-high eight 3-pointers for the Titans (1-7). The Scots (9-0) are ranked second in the nation in Division III by D3Hoops.com.
The contest set a new record for the most combined points (243) scored at Wooster's Timken Gymnasium.
The Scots had five players score in double figures, led by Tom Port with game-high totals of 32 points and 10 rebounds. For Westminster, senior guard Mark DeMonaco (New Castle) added 22 points, three assists and three steals. Sophomore guard Chauncey Whitlow (Wilson) added 15 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Senior guard Brian Fadden (Mohawk) added five assists off the bench.
Late Saturday
WESTERVILLE -- Ross Banaszak had 17 points and Tyler Ousley added 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead Otterbein to a 73-63 victory over Mount Union on Saturday.
Kevin King also had 10 points for the Cardinals (3-5, 1-3 Ohio Conference), who committed 17 turnovers. Otterbein outrebounded the Purple Raiders 34-24.
Chris Switzer scored 10 of his 18 points in the first half to help Mount Union build a 33-30 lead at halftime. The Purple Raiders (2-7, 1-3) shot 58 percent from the field in the first half.
Eric Fender of Poland scored 12 points and Kyle Karpinski had 10 for Mount Union.
Women
TIFFIN -- Junior Cassie Bedard scored 24 points but it wasn't enough as Hiram (3-4) fell to Heidelberg 76-56 on Sunday.
Brittany Skolnicki scored 24 points to lead Heidelberg (7-2).
