Pulaski supervisors to adopt 2006 budget

PULASKI, Pa. -- Township supervisors will adopt the 2006 budget and update the burning ordinance at a meeting at 8 p.m. Dec. 28.
Supervisor Chairman Lewis Grell said supervisors received information concerning the air pollution ordinance from the Department of Environmental Protection. The burning ordinance will be fairly liberal, allowing residents to burn on their properties and have recreational and ceremonial fires, but prohibit burning on streets and of toxic materials, he said.
Supervisor Tom Gates said supervisors are still discussing if they will permit burning leaves or if the township will start a leaf collection. He said he has received phone calls from residents who are offended by neighbors burning leaves and grass.
During a meeting last week, supervisors also set the fee for a copy of the township zoning ordinance at $25.
