Planning commission to appoint officers

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Lawrence County Planning Commission will reorganize during its regular monthly meeting Jan. 10 at the Lawrence County Government Center.
New officers will be appointed at that time.
Last week, the commission established a nominating committee made up of Frank Telesz, commission chairman, and commission members Everett Bleakney and Dean Kind.
That committee will make recommendations to the commission as to which members should serve as chairman, vice chairman and secretary over the next year.
The commission also announced the following meeting schedule for the remainder of next year: Feb. 14 at Hoss's Steak & amp; Sea House, New Castle; March 14 at the government center; April 11, Hito's Restaurant in West Pittsburg; May 9, government center; June 13, Jameson Health System South Campus; July 11, government center; Aug. 8, Countryside Restaurant, Ellwood City; Sept. 12, government center; Oct. 10, New Castle Airport, Union Township; Nov. 14, government center; and Dec. 12, Gallo's Italian Villa in New Castle. All meetings start at noon.
