NBA ROUNDUP Saturday's other game

Clippers 89, Rockets 81
LOS ANGELES -- Sam Cassell had 22 points, Elton Brand scored nine of his 20 points in the final six minutes and Los Angeles snapped Houston's five-game winning streak. Tracy McGrady scored 25 of his 29 points in the first half for the Rockets, whose loss was their first in the last 10 meetings with the Clippers. The Rockets are 0-12 this season when they score fewer than 90 points. Cuttino Mobley scored 18 points for the Clippers, who played without No. 2 scorer Corey Maggette for the sixth straight game -- he sprained his left foot Dec. 5 against Miami. Backup center Chris Wilcox had 11 points and tied a career high with 13 rebounds. The Clippers' starting backcourt of Cassell and Mobley combined to shoot 17-for-32. Brand made three mid-range jumpers during a 2:47 span to give the Clippers an 82-75 lead with 3:13 to play. The Rockets made only two baskets the rest of the way, 3-pointers by Luther Head and David Wesley.
