INSTALLATION McCarthy is new master of Argus lodge



CANFIELD -- Michael D. McCarthy Jr. of Youngstown was installed as master of Argus Masonic Lodge 545 during the 118th installation of officers Dec. 9 at the lodge.
Mark D. Stovall and Thomas Hallden, past masters, were installing officers.
Also installed were George E. Brainard, senior warden; Greg M. Foley, junior warden; Thomas J. Hallden, treasurer; Donald L. Huntley, secretary; David A. Giudici, chaplain; Christopher J. Brocious, senior deacon; Denny Furman, junior deacon; Dean Clingerman, tyler; and Steven Oleksiuk, education officer.
The Argus lodge members are among 121,000 Freemasons in Ohio. An important element of Freemasonry is charity work. This year the state organization gave $94,000 in college scholarships, contributed $125,000 to Special Olympics Ohio Summer Games and funded $70,000 in training for Ohio teachers. The organization also provided $12 million in elderly care.
