Foundation to fund Leonard Kirtz party

AUSTINTOWN -- The Van Sickle Foundation for "R" Kids will again sponsor the Christmas party for the pupils of the Leonard Kirtz School, 4801 Woodridge Drive, at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday in the school cafeteria.
"Our board members will present the school with a check for $2,000 which will pay for the party, including Santa," said Samuel Naples, foundation president.
"This is our eighth year sponsoring this Christmas party," said Bob Van Sickle, foundation founder. The foundation was started 14 years ago to help children with special needs, who often slip through the cracks of medical assistance.
It assists children in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties in buying items of special need related to any illness or disability. Funding requests may be sent to: The Van Sickle Foundation, P.O. Box 6022, Youngstown, OH 44501. To receive funds, all other avenues of funding must be exhausted, including insurance and assistance from public agencies.
