Congressman hosts nominees' breakfast

NILES -- U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan was to host a breakfast today at McMenamy's for his nominees to military academies.
Nominees from the Mahoning and Trumbull counties portions of Ryan's 17th Congressional District include:
UMaxim Alper, a 2006 Liberty High School graduate and son of Gregory and Marina Alper, for the Merchant Marine Academy.
UJeffrey Asch, a 2006 Chaney High School graduate and son of David and Joanna Asch, for the Air Force Academy.
UKevin Barry, a 2003 Ursuline High School graduate and son of John and Carolyn Barry, for the Naval Academy.
UAlexander Freer, a 2006 Champion High School graduate and son of Scott and Debbie Freer, for West Point.
UKevin Gemmell, a 2006 Girard High School graduate and son of Richard and Connie Gemmell, for the Air Force Academy.
UMark Hammond, a 2006 Howland High School graduate and son of William Hammond and Rebecca Albu, for the Air Force Academy.
UAlena Westover, a 2006 Warren G. Harding High School graduate and daughter of Wayne and Jutta Westover, for West Point.
UJames Woodward, a 2006 Struthers High School graduate and son of David and Cathie Woodward, for West Point.
