Christmas music
GIRARD -- The adult choir of Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St., will present a special musical celebration of the season, "A Great and Mighty Wonder," at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.
Holiday traditions
YOUNGSTOWN -- First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave., will hold a service on lessons and carols Sunday. The prelude will begin at 10:45 a.m. featuring the Sheet and Tube Brass Quartet, percussionist Tyler Husosky and the Motet Choir. The service is based on a traditional English service. Members of church school classes will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the parlor that day to discuss Christmas traditions around the world. The church Christmas party will be at noon with a light lunch and caroling in Helen Chapel.
Live Nativity
NORTH LIMA -- A live Nativity will be presented from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 24 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave. Ext.
Message and meditation
CANFIELD -- The Youngstown Spiritual Society will meet for its message and meditation service from 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the Ursuline Center, 4300 Shields Road. Vince Lisi will present, "How to Live Enlightened in an Ego-driven World Part 2."
Longest night, Nativity
HOWLAND -- Howland Community Church, state Route 46 at Howland Corners, will hold a longest night service at 7 p.m. Sunday. The nondenominational Christian service will include prayer, Scripture and music. The church also will present a live Nativity from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Speaker planned
COLUMBIANA -- "Remember" will be the topic of Chad Palmer when he speaks at 6 p.m. Sunday at Zion Hill Church of the Brethren. He is a grandson of the church pastor, the Rev. John Bartholomew.
