MOHAWK SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

Mohawk School Board did the following at its meeting Monday:
Agreed to follow the Pennsylvania School Board Associations code of conduct. The code establishes a goal for districts to have effective school boards to promote student growth and achievement.
Hired Gina Greco and Dennis DiGianvincenzo as job coaches for the Transition from School to work program. Their positions were made available through a $70,000 state grant. The job coaches will go to job sites with special needs students to help achieve a good work ethic that will encourage them to have successful jobs upon graduation.
Granted permission for bus garage supervisor Todd Espositio to solicit bids for new school buses via a purchase or lease to purchase program. Superintendent Dr. Timothy McNamee said the district tries to replace two of the district's 30 buses each year. He said this averages about 15 years for each of the school buses.
