TAMPA, Fla. -- Liz Shimek scored 28 points, and Lindsay Bowen added 22 to lead Michigan State. Rene Haynes had 11 points and seven assists for the Spartans (6-2). Jessica Dickson scored 25 points, and Nalini Miller had 16 to pace the Bulls (6-2) against their third consecutive ranked opponent. Shantia Grace added 13 for South Florida.
No. 16 Oklahoma 68, Missouri St. 57
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Freshman Courtney Paris scored 15 second-half points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead Oklahoma. Oklahoma (9-1) saw a 16-point first-half lead shrink to 46-42 with 9:36 left after a basket by Missouri State's Kari Koch. Oklahoma, which committed 25 turnovers, responded with a 14-3 run to push its lead to 60-45 with 4:08 left. Paris was held scoreless in the first half, missing her only two attempts. Missouri State (3-2) shot 34 percent (20-for-59) from the field for the game. Oklahoma hit 22 of 42 for 52 percent. Leah Rush led Oklahoma with 21 points. Erin Higgins added 13 and Kendra Moore finished with 11. Koch finished with 24 points and Tahnee Balerio had 18.
No. 21 Vanderbilt 82, Miami (Ohio) 50
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Caroline Williams scored all 22 of her points in the first half to lead Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt (8-2) opened the game with a 13-1 run, capped by Williams' 3-pointer with 15:52 left in the half. Williams finished with a pair of 3-pointers to give Vanderbilt a 40-17 halftime lead. Miami (3-5) held the Commodores scoreless for nearly six minutes in the first half, but managed just three points of its own. In the second half, Vanderbilt took a 78-42 lead with nine minutes left on a basket by Carla Thomas. Liz Sherwood and Thomas finished with 14 points each and reserve Cherish Stringfield added 13. Dee Davis had her second 10-assist game of the season. Cindi Merrill had 23 points and Katie Guerriero added 10 for the Redhawks.
No. 23 Utah 81, Gonzaga 54
SALT LAKE CITY -- Shona Thorburn had 22 points and a career-high 13 assists, leading Utah. Kim Smith had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Utes, and Julie Larsen shot 3-for-6 on 3-pointers and finished with 11 points. Ashley Anderson scored 16 points and Katy Ridenour had 10 points and a team-high six rebounds for Gonzaga, which was outrebounded 46-25. With Utah leading 63-45 late in the second half, the Utes used a 16-6 run to stretch their advantage to 28 points. Gonzaga used a 9-0 run to cut their deficit to 46-38 with 14:53 left in the second half. Utah's Kim Smith hit a 3-pointer about 1 1/2 minutes later and Gonzaga didn't get any closer again. The Utes led by as many as 20 in the first half, but the Bulldogs closed the gap to 41-26 at halftime. Gonzaga, which missed 12 of its first 14 shots, was 30 percent from the field (9-for-30) in the first half, compared to Utah's 57 percent (16-for-28). Anderson scored the game's first basket to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead, but the Utes responded with an 11-2 run to take the lead for good.
