Hospital accredited
FARRELL, Pa. -- UPMC Horizon's Greenville and Shenango Valley campuses were granted accreditation by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program of the American Osteopathic Association. Accreditation by HFAP demonstrates that a health care facility has met the standards set forth by HFAP to provide high-quality care and compliance with government regulations. HFAP has been providing reviews since 1945 and is one of only two voluntary accreditation programs with "deeming authority" from the Health Care Financing Administration of the federal government to accredit hospitals and clinical laboratories. UPMC Horizon also is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
Return of 'Gusto'
Youngstown -- The Junior League of Youngstown is offering an heirloom cookbook, "With Great Gusto," for the first time since 1994. First published in 1987, the book has more than 750 recipes.
Holiday recipes abound in the Party Hearty Section of the cookbook and include Wedding Soup, Hearts of Palm Salad, Salmon Party Log, Scalloped Asparagus, and Filet Lyonnaise.

Copeland Oaks cookbook
Just in time for Christmas giving, Copeland Oaks retirement community in Sebring is offering a new cookbook, "A Taste of." Proceeds will benefit the Life Care and Endowment Fund that provides assistance for residents. Last year the Life Care fund provided almost $1 million in assistance. Copeland Oaks is a continuing care retirement community that is home to 700 residents.
