BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- Bruce Eugene completed six touchdown passes and threw for 473 yards to lead Grambling State in a 45-6 rout of Alabama A & amp;M in the Southwestern Athletic Conference championship game at Legion Field.
Eugene broke the NCAA Division I record for career touchdown passes with 140, breaking the record held by Willie Totten of Mississippi Valley State. He completed 30-of-47 passes and had no interceptions.
Henry Tolbert caught four of Eugene's touchdown passes on Saturday to break the Grambling State single-season record with 19 touchdown receptions.

Alabama A & amp;M (9-3) scored on its first possession with a a one-yard touchdown run by Nic Luke. That would be the only score of the day for the Bulldogs, as Grambling answered with long touchdown drives on its next two possessions, capped by a 12-yard touchdown pass from Harris to Tolbert and a one-yard touchdown run by Ab Kuuan.
Fourth-down success
The Tigers were a perfect 4 of 4 on fourth-down conversions in the first half.
Alabama A & amp;M mounted another long drive to start the second half, but turned the ball over on downs at the Grambling 37 when Kelcy Luke took a knee in an effort to catch the Tiger defense in the neutral zone.
Grambling took advantage of the opportunity and Eugene went on to throw four touchdown passes in the third quarter, connecting on passes of 31, 41, 23 and two yards to tie the NCAA record. His record-breaking touchdown came on a 12-yard pass to Tolbert with 5:24 left in the fourth quarter.
