Strong defense helps Laurel down Union, 58-21



NEW CASTLE Pa. -- The Laurel High boys basketball team used an aggressive defense to stay unbeaten, upending Union 58-21 Friday.
The Spartans bult a 33-14 halftime lead then blanked the Scotties (0-5) 6-0 in the third quarter.
Dave Cline paced Laurel (4-0) with 13 points and eight rebounds. Tyler Wolmer and Andy Lawrence added 11 apiece. Corey Collins had five assists.
Tom Mills led Union with five points.
