WASHINGTON -- Henrik Zetterberg scored two power-play goals and Nicklas Lidstrom added a goal and two assists to lead Detroit. Lidstrom scored the winning goal on a power play that gave Detroit a 4-2 lead with 2:53 left in the third period. Pavel Datsyuk also scored for the Red Wings. Rookie star Alexander Ovechkin had a goal and an assist for the Capitals. Matt Pettinger and Jamie Heward also scored for Washington. The Red Wings were 3-for-6 on the power play and the Capitals were 1-for-7.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Colorado's Antti Laaksonen scored the only goal in seven rounds of a shootout, beating Martin Brodeur with a backhand shot. In regulation, Andrew Burnette had two goals and Joe Sakic also scored in the first period as Colorado jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Jay Pandolfo, Brian Gionta and Scott Gomez scored for New Jersey.
