YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown Symphony Chorus will present its holiday concert at 4 p.m. Dec. 18 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1429 Mahoning Ave. Refreshments will be served after the concert.
Tickets are $10 for adults, and $8 for seniors and students. Children 14 and under are free. Those who buy tickets in advance will get two for the price of one. Call (330) 881-9517 for more information.
Christmas spectacular
AKRON -- Tickets are still available for Larry Wilgus' "Christmas Music Spectacular" at the Akron Civic Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Friday; 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday; and 3 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $35 and $31 for adults, and $21 for children 12 and under, and are available at all Ticketmaster locations.
Seasonal music
MERCER, Pa. -- The Mercer County Historical Society Chamber Players will hold its Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 16 in the Helen Black Miller Memorial Chapel at 119 S. Pitt St. The concert is free, but donations are accepted.
Laura Latshaw will be guest vocalist. The program will end with the Chamber Players and the audience in a candlelit rendition of "Silent Night." A reception will follow in the social hall of the chapel
'The Inn' dinner-theater
HUBBARD -- Cornerhouse Christian Church, 6954 Chestnut Ridge Road, will present "The Inn" as part of a dinner-theater program at 6 p.m. Dec. 16 and 17.
Audience members are treated like the guests at an inn in Bethlehem on the night of Christ's birth.
The menu includes soup, appetizers, herbed chicken, stuffed cabbage, vegetables and dessert.

CLEVELAND -- An open house will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 17 at "A Christmas Story" House, 3159 W. 11th St. The house is the actual house used in the now-classic 1983 movie. Go to www.achristmasstoryhouse.com for more information.
Bessemer lecture
YOUNGSTOWN -- Thomas K. Glasgow will give a lecture on the life of Sir Henry Bessemer in the meeting room of The Youngstown Historical Center, 151 W. Wood St., at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Glasgow is retired from the John Glenn NASA Research Center. The cost is $6 ($3 for students), and the museum galleries will be open after the presentation at no cost.
