POLICE CALLS
A summary of recent criminal activity in Liberty Township:
Nov. 30
Theft: A man in the 1000 block of Powers Avenue saw that four tires and four rims had been removed from his car. Theft came to $2,400.
Breaking and entering: A man called police after someone broke into Amhurst Storage, 1615 Amhurst Ave., and damaged a door lock.
Theft: A man in the 1000 block of Trumbull Avenue reported someone cut a fence and took four 20-pound propane tanks, for a loss of $160.
Theft: A Masury woman discovered her leather coat, an operator's license and two other items stolen while she was at Rent-a-Center or Goodwill Industries, both on Belmont Avenue.
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a garage near Belmont Motors, 3238 Belmont Ave., and took various tools.
Vehicle theft: A Girard man reported the theft of his $300 all-terrain vehicle parked at a residence in the 1600 block of Wilson Avenue.
Burglary: A man in the 200 block of Colonial Drive told officers that when he returned to his home, he found that his grandson, 11, had jimmied the front door with a screwdriver before falling asleep inside. Nothing appeared to be missing.
Dec. 1
Theft: A man in the 2100 block of Tibbets-Wick Road reported the theft of 12 bags of empty aluminum cans near his garage.
Dec. 2
Theft: A man in the 200 block of East Montrose Street said a tenant removed a $400 stove and replaced it with a cheaper one.
Forgery: A worker at U.S. Bank, 4700 Belmont Ave., reported a South Euclid, Ohio, man tried to cash a fake check.
Domestic violence: Police arrested a Howland man, 24, at a James Lane residence and charged him with domestic violence. The suspect's wife alleged he refused to leave, and that he threatened to get a gun and to burn down her home.
Dec. 3
Arrest: A 23-year-old Austintown woman was picked up at Advance America Cash Advance, 3231 Belmont Ave., and turned over to Hubbard authorities. She was wanted on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in court on a count of failure to pay income taxes.
Theft: An East Liverpool woman discovered her purse, $50 and a cellular phone missing while she was at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex, 1620 Motor Inn Drive.
Dec. 4
Burglary: A woman in the 3000 block of Northgate Avenue noticed a rear bedroom window open. Stolen were a camera, $60 in cash and 12 compact discs and DVDs, for a loss of $660.
