Magic Carpet offers 'Dragon and Princess'
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Oakland Center for the Arts' Magic Carpet Theater will celebrate the holiday season with a showcase of its hit touring show, "The Dragon and the Princess," Saturday and Sunday.
This event will take place at the center, 220 W. Boardman St., downtown. Showtimes are at 2 p.m. both days. Tickets are $5 per person. For reservations, call (330) 746-0404.
Cast members Jane Midgley, Jen Kuzcek and Robert Dennick Joki tell the story of a lonely fairy tale prince and his journey to find his very own princess.
After the performance, the Magic Carpet actors will provide refreshments, a theater workshop, and a special holiday surprise.
The Magic Carpet Theatre Touring Company began in 1995 as a youth theater outreach component of the Oakland Center for the Arts. It specializes in classic and contemporary literature to the stage with scripts that are audience interactive.
MCT performs an average of 150 live theater performances to nearly 40,000 students each year in schools across northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
"The Dragon and the Princess" was written, designed, and directed by Joki.
