Fender's final shot gives Raiders win
The former Poland star's shot at the buzzer led a 53-51 win over Muskingum.

NEW CONCORD -- Eric Fender hit a 5-foot fadaway jumper from the baseline as time expired, giving Mount Union a 53-51 win over Muskingum on Wednesday night.
Fender, from Poland High, scored only five points, but made the winning shot after the Muskies (4-2, 1-1 Ohio Conference) tied the score 51-all on Zach Ross' 3-pointer with 20 seconds to play.
Chris Switzer and Clay Long led the Purple Raiders (2-5, 1-1) with 12 points apiece, and Kyle Karpinski added 11.
Brandon Todd and Cole Pittis each scored 19 points for Muskingum. Ross had five points.
Bethany 88, Pitt-Greensburg 68
BETHANY, W.Va. -- Bethany rolled to a 28-4 lead to start the game and never looked back.
The Bison (5-3) scored the first 10 points as Scott Mezyk and Brody Jackson drilled 3s to ignite the rally, which was capped off by three straight baskets from junior forward James Wallace.
Pitt-Greensburg was able to cut it to 15 at one time, but Bethany scored nine of the final 14 points before halftime to carry a 49-28 lead into the break.
In the second half, Pitt-Greensburg was only as close as 21 points twice until the very end.
Matt Drahos finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds for Bethany. Mike Drahos added 12 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. Chris Stephens had 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting.
Pitt-Greensburg was led by Duke Coope with 15 points.
Allegheny 100, Westminster 98
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Casey McCloskey hit a running layup with six seconds to play to give Allegheny the victory.
Allegheny (4-3) was led by Matt Mazjzlik with a game-high 28 points.
Craig Hannon led Westminster (1-5) with 24 points and three steals, while Steve Bielich had 15 points, 15 rebounds and seven blocked shots. Nick DiNatale had 14 points for the Titans, who have lost five straight.
Bluffton 88, Hiram 75
BLUFFTON -- Senior T.C. Spencer led the Terriers with a career-high 26 points, going 12-for-15 from the field.
Senior Rick Baldwin (Boardman) added 13 points for Hiram (0-4), while A.J. White scored 12. Spencer also had seven rebounds.
Geneva 89, Malone 71
BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- Kyle McDermott and Bam Harmon each scored 18 points to lead Geneva past Malone in an American Mideast Conference game Tuesday.
Ryan Burns had 14 points off the bench, Christian Hauser had 11 points and Nate Conley had 11 assists for the Golden Tornadoes (4-4).
Chris Miller had 17 points and Jesse Schlabach had 16 for Malone (2-7).
Women
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Thiel freshman forward Amber Bodrick (Mooney) scored 27 points and added seven rebounds in the Tomcats' 88-67 victory over Chatham.
Fontella Jones (Farrell) finished with 17 points, nine rebounds and six assists, while Heather Abate and Jena Cook added 16 and 10 points off of the bench, respectively.
Hallie Arena led four Cougars in double-figures, finishing with 18 points, five assists and four rebounds.
Hiram 79, Lake Erie 57
HIRAM -- Cassie Bedard and Stephanie Zunic (Canfield) led the Terriers with 16 points each.
Michelle Kozempa added 13, followed by Brandie Turner with 12. Kozempa also had 14 rebounds and Allison Davis (Boardman) had six assists.
Hiram is 2-2.
Mount Union 67, Muskingum 43
ALLIANCE -- Kyla Hogan led four Mount Union players in double figures, as the Purple Raiders improved to 6-1 with their sixth straight victory.
Hogan finished with 18 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor. Hogan was 4-for-4 on 3-pointers.
Lauren Friedrich added 12 points for Mount Union (2-0 Ohio Athletic Conference), while Alicia Williams had 10 points and a team-high 14 rebounds. Brooke Ghilani also finished in double figures, with 10 points.
The winning streak is Mount Union's longest since the 1999-2000 season.
Tapre Young scored 19 points to lead Muskingum (2-4, 0-2), which shot just 23.6 percent from the floor (13-of-55).
