National Auto fire officially ruled arson

WARREN -- A fire that destroyed the vacant former National Auto & amp; Marine building at 3550 Youngstown Road on Nov. 28 has been ruled an arson, according to Lt. Don Beauchene, a city fire department arson investigator.
Beauchene declined to discuss details concerning the manner in which the fire was set because it is still under investigation.
He said he is still awaiting results from tests by the State Fire Marshal's laboratory in Reynoldsburg on materials collected at the scene.
Damage was estimated at $250,000. There were no injuries.
On the day of the blaze, firefighters said the blaze appeared suspicious because the building was vacant and the electricity had been shut off.
