"Alias" (10 p.m., ABC): "Alias" moves to Wednesdays for a couple of weeks with an episode that has Sydney and Rachel teaming with Sark to prevent a bomb from getting into the hands of a mercenary. "Alias" fans are probably still in mourning after the recent announcement that this will be the show's final season.
"Great Performances: My Name is Barbra" (9:30 p.m., PBS): Viewers on that April night in 1965 are unlikely to have forgotten their first glimpse of the young woman with the heavy mascara and the oddly spelled name. Nor could they easily forget her voice! Now they can re-experience it all, along with a whole new audience, when PBS airs "My Name is Barbra," the one-woman spectacular that introduced viewers to that Broadway sensation named Barbra Streisand. Originally aired by CBS four days after her 23rd birthday, the show revolutionized the "variety special" in numerous ways, including its choreographed suite of songs (such as "I'm Late," "Make Believe" and, of course, "People") and the on-location shoot at Manhattan's posh Bergdorf Goodman department store. Four decades later, the black-and-white production still looks avant garde and stunning. As for Streisand? A contemporary TV critic's assessment still holds true: "She is so great it is shocking."
