Fred Mozzocio is named as head of New Castle Area School Board

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- The New Castle Area School Board has named Fred Mozzocio board president.
At a reorganization meeting Monday, the board also appointed Peter Yerage vice president, and swore in Yerage and J. Allan Joseph, incumbents, and new board members Philip Conti and Donna Donati.
Conti and Donati were elected in November.
The board also scheduled its regular meetings at 6:30 p.m. the second Wednesday after the first Monday of each month, unless otherwise changed, in the board room at the Croton Administration Building, 420 Fern St. Its work sessions will be conducted at 6 p.m. the Monday preceding its regular meeting.
The board's next caucus will be Monday and its regular meeting, Dec. 14.
The board also adopted Roberts Rules of Order as a standard for its board meetings. The standard calls for, among other things, board members who may have a conflict of interest with regard to hiring any potential employees to make the conflict known to the remainder of the board before a vote is conducted. Additionally, the board president is to be the last one to cast his vote.
