"The Triangle" (9 p.m., Sci Fi Channel): Eric Stoltz, Catherine Bell, Sam Neill and Lou Diamond Phillips star in this epic new miniseries about a disparate group of researchers hired to investigate the mind-boggling mysteries of the infamous Bermuda Triangle after a billionaire loses some cargo ships and their crews.
"Recipe for a Perfect Christmas" (9 p.m., Lifetime): Can a hopeful young restaurant reviewer get her mom off her back, land the man of her dreams and not bust the deadline for an all-important review? These are the simmering issues of "Recipe for a Perfect Christmas." This Lifetime film finds a rookie food critic doing a holiday favor for an attractive young chef -- she'll review his faltering new restaurant, but only if he takes her overbearing, widowed mom out for a date or two. But then things start to heat up when she takes a liking to this restaurateur -- and he takes a liking to Mom. Christine Baranski plays the saucy mother, while Carly Pope is the writer and Bobby Cannavale is the restaurant owner.
