Volunteers needed for MDA camp

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Muscular Dystrophy Association is seeking volunteers for its summer camp scheduled for June 18-24 at Camp Cheerful in Strongsville.
Volunteer counselors must be at least 16 years old and be able to lift and care for people between 6 and 21 years old. Each counselor serves as a companion to a camper with a neuromuscular disease. Counselors help campers with daily activities including eating, bathing and dressing and recreational activities such as arts and crafts, swimming and horseback riding.
MDA's free summer camps serve more than 4,000 campers nationwide. Last year, more than 4,700 volunteers assisted in 90 weeklong sessions around the country.
