Service organization looking for angels
The project is designed to brighten the holidays for hundreds of area children.
WARREN -- Northeast Ohio Adoption Services is again asking area businesses and individuals to become an angel and participate in a project that will brighten the holidays for children in the area.
Those wishing to help the youngsters may visit the organization's office at Suite 26, 5000 E. Market St., between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays and select one or more paper angel from the Angel Christmas tree.
Those selecting an angel will be asked to buy a gift for the child whose name, age and holiday wish will appear on the paper.
Gere Weller of Liberty and Janet Weller of Canfield are organizing the project with the help of community volunteers. Hundreds of children served by the child welfare system are represented by the paper angels.
NOAS was founded in 1978 as a private, nonprofit adoption agency which has developed families for more than 1,000 children without charging for the adoption. In Ohio, some 6,000 children are waiting to be adopted. For more information, singles or couples may call (330) 856-5582, Ext. 126, or visit www.noas.com.
