Reynolds suffers setback in AA semifinal contest

HARMONY, Pa.-- Connor Dixon ran for two touchdowns, threw for another, and intercepted a pass to lead South Park to a 28-2 victory over Reynolds in the PIAA Class AA semifinals Saturday.
The victory earned South Park (15-0) its second trip to the state championship game, and its first since 1997. The Eagles will face Wilson Area (12-2) in the title game Saturday at Hersheypark Stadium at 2 p.m.
Reynolds (11-3) scored its only points at the end of the first half on a safety, when a South Park punt attempt was snapped out of the end zone.
Wilson 33, Montoursville 32
HAZLETON, Pa. -- Juan Lozano's 25-yard field goal with seven seconds to play capped a late fourth-quarter rally to lead Wilson (12-2).
Wilson trailed throughout, and fell behind 32-23 on Luke Trick's 8-yard touchdown run with 2:19 remaining.
The District 11 champs would not be denied, however. Behind the strong arm of quarterback D.J. Lenehan (19-for-32, 339 yards), the Warriors drove 80 yards in 57 seconds to cut into the lead.
Lenehan's 3-yard touchdown run and Lozano's point-after pulled Wilson within two, 32-30, at the 1:22 mark.
Lozano's ensuing onside kick was recovered by teammate Kevin Iobst at the Wilson 35, setting up the game-winning drive.
Southern Columbia 41Steelton-Highspire 7
HERSHEY, Pa. -- Fullback Henry Hynoski rushed for three touchdowns and 181 yards on 27 carries to lead Southern Columbia in the Class A Eastern championship game.
Southern Columbia, back in the state final for the eighth straight season, plays Duquesne at 1 p.m. Friday at Hersheypark Stadium.
Hynoski, a junior, scored from three yards out on the final play of the first half and ran for the two-point conversion to give Southern Columbia (12-2) its first lead of the game. He added two TDs on runs of 20 and two yards in the third quarter, boosting the Tigers' lead to 28-7.
Southern Columbia's defense held Steelton-Highspire (11-3) to 225 yards, 72 of which came on the Rollers' lone score, a TD pass from Jerel Lewis to Stewart Young in the first quarter.
McKeesport 14Bishop McDevitt 13
ALTOONA, Pa. -- Dan Kopolovich ran for one touchdown and threw for another to lead McKeesport in a Class AAAA semifinal.
The victory earns McKeesport its second trip to the state championship game, and its first since 1994. The Tigers will face Bethlehem Liberty (13-1) in the title game Saturday at Hersheypark Stadium at 7 p.m. Bethlehem Liberty won 14-12 over North Penn.
