Microsoft's 'Bible Game' offers challenge
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- "The Bible Game" for PlayStation & reg;2 computer entertainment system and Xbox & reg; video game and entertainment system from Microsoft offers an engaging challenge of biblical knowledge.
"The Bible Game" casts players as contestants on a game show with "beat-the-buzzer" action and a comical off-screen announcer as emcee. Twenty mini- and micro-games entertain players along with 1,500 questions focusing on inspirational Old Testament teachings such as Jonah and the Whale, David and Goliath and Noah's Ark.
Multiplayer mode for up to four players includes the whole family. Action takes place against a soundtrack provided by Christian artists including TobyMac, Newsboys, Kutless and Jeremy Camp.
"The Bible Game" also will be available for the Game Boy Advance handheld video game system at a later date. Players are on a quest to collect the Armor of God and tackle questions from both the Old and New Testaments. Stories, teachings and personalities are intertwined with action that plays out over seven levels. Three difficulty levels make the game accessible for all ages.
XThe Dove Foundation has given "The Bible Game" the Dove Family-Approved Seal and has rated it "family-friendly." The game's suggested retail price is $19.99.
