Mercer Co. to receive $2.4M for projects



SHARON, Pa. -- Mercer County projects will receive $2.4 million in federal funds through federal appropriations enacted last month.
The Greenville Area Economic Development Corp. will receive $2.15 million for the Greenville Streetscape Program, which was launched several years ago. The community has been designated a distressed Act 47 community, and the money will allow it to relocate businesses to the borough and create jobs.
The Shenango Valley Shuttle Service in Sharon is getting $250,000 for upgrades of its bus stations and equipment. SVSS will build 46 new passenger comfort stations, buy shop equipment for a "shared" vehicle storage/light maintenance facility and construct two more parking facilities.
