Goodfellows' annual project solicits donations for needy
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- The Hermitage Goodfellows' annual Christmas project to make sure the city's elderly, shut-ins and needy children have Christmas meals and toys is under way.
The Goodfellows project, in its 50th year, is soliciting donations of toys, canned or boxed foods and money. Toys and food can be dropped off during regular business hours at:
UThe Hermitage Municipal Garage, 5250 Virginia Road.
UThe Hermitage Central Fire Station, 2511 Highland Road.
URice Pools & amp; Spas, 3604 East State St.
UPonderosa restaurant, 3149 East State St.
Money can be mailed to 2511 Highland Road, Hermitage, Pa. 16148.
People wanting to volunteer are welcome at Goodfellows work nights from 7 to 9 p.m. starting Dec. 7 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday until Christmas eve in the Hermitage Municipal garage on Virginia Road.
Anyone knowing needy families in Hermitage should drop off or mail information on the families, including names and ages of children, to the Hermitage Goodfellows, 2511 Highland Road, Hermitage, Pa. 16148.
No clothing, bicycles or used stuffed toys will be accepted for health reasons.
The meals and toys are distributed on Christmas Eve night.
