Girl charged after crashing car into restaurant
NORTH CANTON (AP) -- A 16-year-old girl lost control of her car Friday and drove through the front glass of a restaurant, injuring about 12 people, authorities said.
Some restaurant patrons suffered serious injuries, Jackson Police Sgt. Rick Mitchell said Saturday morning.
Stephanie Hanthorn of Massillon crashed the Honda Accord after crossing two lanes of traffic and running over a curb, according to the police report.
Police still are investigating what caused the crash, Mitchell said.
Hanthorn was charged with failure to control the vehicle, and Mitchell said more charges may be filed depending on the severity of the injuries.
