NEW YORK -- Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, below, had a baby girl Thursday.
"Mother, father and baby are doing great," their publicists, Ken Sunshine and Nicole King, told The Associated Press.
They said the baby was born at 6:26 p.m. EST Thursday but would not give any other details, including where the infant was born.
It is the first child for Garner and Affleck, both 33, who were married in June.
The confirmation came after several media outlets reported the baby's birth -- hours before the time of birth supplied by Sunshine and King. Us Weekly reported the baby was born sometime before 2 p.m. EST, and E! News said the couple had named her Violet.
Affleck co-starred with Garner in 2003's "Daredevil," her first big movie role, but they didn't begin dating until last year.
Garner was previously married to actor Scott Foley. They were divorced in March 2004 after 31/2 years of marriage. Affleck and Jennifer Lopez called off their September 2003 wedding and broke off their engagement in January 2004.
Affleck will star as George Reeves, television's Superman, in the upcoming movie "Truth, Justice, and the American Way."
Garner's ABC series, "Alias," is ending its five-year run in May. Her pregnancy was written into "Alias" for her character, a globe-trotting spy.
Young billionaire Onassisto wed equestrian star
SAO PAULO, Brazil -- Surrounded by palm trees and azalea bushes on a lush estate, Greek billionaire Athina Roussel Onassis was expected to say 'I do' to an Olympic athlete today in what Brazilians expect will be one of the most lavish weddings in years.
The 20-year-old Onassis -- granddaughter and sole heiress of the late shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis and one of the world's richest women -- will marry Brazilian equestrian star Alvaro Afonso de Miranda, the 32-year-old son of an insurance company owner.
Miranda, known popularly as Doda, was a member of the Brazilian showjumping team that won a bronze medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and another in 2000 in Sydney, Australia.
The couple, who share a love for horses and showjumping, met in 2002 at a riding center in Belgium owned by Brazilian equestrian Nelson Pessoa.
Athina Roussel Onassis was raised in Switzerland by her French-born father, Thierry Roussel. She inherited an estimated $2.7 billion from her grandfather on her 18th birthday.
Prosecutors: RevokeSizemore's probation
LOS ANGELES -- Prosecutors said Tom Sizemore violated his probation after traces of amphetamines were found in his urine, but a judge opted Friday not to send the actor back to jail.
Sizemore's probation, stemming from a conviction for methamphetamine possession, had been revoked in July after he admitted to using a prosthetic device to fake a drug test and failing to be checked for drugs every three days.
In October, Superior Court Judge Paula Mabrey reinstated the 44-year-old actor's probation for making "remarkable" progress in his battle with drugs, but warned that he could face 16 months in prison if he relapsed.
On Friday, prosecutors asked that Sizemore's probation again be revoked because of the positive drug test. His lawyers countered that test results were tainted because of medication being prescribed by Sizemore's doctor.
Superior Court Judge T.K. Herman set a Jan. 13 hearing to determine if Sizemore's probation should be revoked again and asked his lawyers to provide more information about the prescription drug and whether an alternative can be used.
