Applications sought for Project Blueprint

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Volunteer Services Agency is accepting applications for Project Blueprint, a nationally developed training program designed to help local nonprofit agencies develop better boards of directors.
Beginning Jan. 14, 2006, VSA is offering the fourth round of Project Blueprint, which is designed to promote diversity on nonprofit boards and committees throughout the Mahoning Valley, Maureen A. Drummond, VSA program director, said.
Project Blueprint recruits, trains and assists in the placement of under-represented men and women in positions of community leadership, Drummond said.
The tuition for the six-session Project Blueprint is $20 per session or $100 for all six classes. Corporations and nonprofit organizations are encouraged to recommend applicants and assume the tuition cost, Drummond said.
The sessions will be on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon, beginning Jan. 14 and continuing on Jan. 28, Feb. 11, March 11 and 25, and April 8. Topics include: Nonprofit governance, teamwork, strategic planning, marketing and human resource issues. Interested persons can contact VSA at (330) 782-5877.
