3 Heirarchs to participate in anniversary



YOUNGSTOWN -- Three Heirarchs of the Greek Orthodox Church will participate in 90th anniversary events for St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Church, 4955 Glenwood Ave.
A Heirarchal Vesper service is planned at 7 p.m. next Saturday and a Heirarchal liturgy will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 11. Participants will be Archbishop Demetrios of New York, spiritual head of the Greek Orthodox Church in the United States; Metropolitan Maximos, head of the Pittsburgh Metropolis (diocese); and Metropolitan Isaiah, head of the Denver, Colo., Metropolis that covers 10 states. Assisting at the liturgy will be the Rev. Thomas Constantine, church pastor, and other Orthodox priests. A brunch will follow the morning service that will mark the archbishop's first visit to the church.
A banquet will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 11 at Antone's Banquet Center in Boardman.
