YOUNGSTOWN -- Warrants have been issued for Antonio D. Jackson, who police said is responsible for the deaths of two women killed months apart and dumped in water.
A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for Jackson's capture.
Anyone who has information about his whereabouts is asked to call (330) 533-2017. The number is for Canfield police, who answer for the Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force and U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. Tipsters can also call 911.
Jackson, 25, was last known to be living in the 2100 block of Summer Street, said Lt. Robin Lees. The suspect is black, 5 feet 11 inches and 143 pounds.
Jackson is accused in the Aug. 7 slaying of Sierra Y. Slaton and the Nov. 20 slaying of Tahnee Y. Jackson (no relation). The charges are two counts each of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery and three counts of kidnapping.
Police Chief Robert E. Bush Jr. announced the warrants at a press conference Wednesday afternoon. He thanked the witnesses who came forward and the detectives assigned to the case: John Kelty, Ron Rodway and Jose Morales.
Rodway said a warrant could be issued today for Jackson's companion. The detective declined to identify the man until the warrant is issued.
Women's deaths
Slaton, 19, of Vestal Road, was found floating in McKelvey Lake on the East Side around 6:30 p.m. Aug. 7, shot once. She left home at 12:40 p.m. Aug. 6 and was reported missing late that night by her mother.
Tahnee Jackson, 29, of Cassius Street, was found shortly before 4 a.m. Nov. 20, nude and floating in a creek in a wooded area near Erie Street and Earle Avenue on the South Side. She had been drowned.
The victim's friend, a 25-year-old Plazaview Court woman, told police they had given a ride to two men who approached them outside a bar on the East Side. The two women and two men then went to Frieda's, a bar on Belmont Avenue, and stayed until closing.
Later, police said, Tahnee Jackson was beaten and forced into the water by Antonio Jackson, who held the woman's head under water until she drowned. He was quoted as saying, "That's eight under my belt" and that he just got out of prison for murder.
Rodway said Jackson has an extensive criminal record that does not include murder, but does include felonious assault, public indecency, carrying a concealed weapon, receiving stolen property and much more.
Warrant for driver
In an unrelated matter, Bush said a warrant was issued for Stephan M. Carlomagna, 18, of Warner Road, Liberty, that charges him with aggravated vehicular homicide. Carlomagna was expected to turn himself in today for arraignment.
Bush said Carlomagna's blood-alcohol content registered 0.187 after the Nov. 19 crash in which his passenger, 18-year-old Edrow W. Stargell II of Catherine Avenue, was killed. The legal alcohol limit is 0.08.
Reports show the head-on crash took place at 3:15 a.m. on Mahoning Avenue near Maryland Avenue.
Carlomagna's 1992 Toyota Celica had been eastbound on Mahoning in the westbound lane when it struck a 1994 Dodge Caravan driven westbound on Mahoning by Mark J. Robbins, 30, of Cameron Avenue, reports show. The vehicles hit head-on, police said.
