Struthers woman reports attempted rape

BOARDMAN -- An 18-year-old Struthers woman told police that a friend tried to force her to have sex after she went to his Glenwood Avenue apartment to help him put up a Christmas tree.
The woman said she initially asked to borrow gas money from the man. He agreed, saying he needed help with his Christmas tree and the woman said she'd help.
When she got to the man's apartment, she said the man grabbed her and put her on the bed and removed her pants. He held her arms down and was on top of her.
She got away and the man tried to get her on the couch. She again got away from him and retrieved her pants, cell phone and keys. He tried to persuade her to stay, asking if they could still put up the tree. She refused and went to a friend's West Boulevard apartment where she called police.
