Loghurst plans holiday events

CANFIELD -- The Loghurst museum is inviting the public to participate in holiday programs during December.
Families can have holiday portraits taken Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Settings include the parlor, with a Victorian Christmas tree, or in front of the fireplace with an "old-world" Santa. Old-time sepia, black-and-white or color photos are available. The cost is $20 for a disc of four photos, and sessions are by appointment only.
A candlelight tour will be Dec. 11 and 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. The program will include the Dulcimer Players of the Upper Ohio Valley, children's crafts and refreshments. Admission is $4 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens.
Olde German Christmas, with food, music and special displays, will be Dec. 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is again $4 or $3.
Loghurst, built in 1805, is the oldest remaining log house in Northeast Ohio. It is at 3967 Boardman-Canfield Road (U.S. Route 224).
The museum is operated by the Western Reserve Historical Society.
