2 charged in purse-snatching

The victim told police that the purse snatcher pulled her to the ground.
BOARDMAN -- Two men face charges, accused of taking a woman's purse in the parking lot of a South Avenue grocery store.
Thomas Wydick, 35, of East Calla Road, Poland, was arrested Tuesday evening and charged with robbery in the offense, which took place Saturday. Wydick is to appear today in Mahoning County Area Court here.
Michael Lucicosky, 22, of Market Street, was arrested Saturday and charged with complicity to robbery. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
A 57-year-old Wingate Road woman said that she parked her car in the lot of Rulli Brothers near the building Saturday afternoon. She went around the car to help her mother out of the car.
Grabbed purse
A man got out of a tan pickup, walked up to her asking to help but then grabbed her purse, which was on the woman's arm. She held onto the purse and he pulled her to the ground, causing her to scrape her knee.
The man then jumped into the rear of the truck, which headed onto Mathews Road. The woman said she saw a driver and a passenger in the truck.
Police spotted the truck northbound on Southern Boulevard and attempted to stop it. The driver fled east on Terrace Drive and a passenger threw the purse out the window.
After a short pursuit, the driver, Lucicosky, was arrested. The other two suspects weren't immediately found, but Wydick was arrested Tuesday evening.
The purse was found on Terrace and returned to the victim.
