XBOARDMAN -- Boardman Christian Church was the setting at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 6 for the wedding of Sarah Anne McCrea, daughter of Nancy McCrea, both of 14637 state Route 170, Petersburg, and Don McCrea of Poland, and Michael Grope of 2750 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland, son of Ron and Bonnie Grope, 2662 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland. The Rev. James Schimmel officiated.
Before leaving on a wedding trip to the Hawaiian island of Maui, the couple accepted congratulations during a reception at the Shangri-La Banquet Hall in Canfield. They live at the groom's address.
The strapless A-line gown worn by the bride featured a side-draped beaded bodice and a chapel train.
White and plum gowns were worn by the bride's mother and honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Jenna McCrea, the bride's sister; Dorothy McCrea, her stepmother; and the groom's mother. Flower girls was Mackenzie Grope, the groom's niece.
The duties of best man were performed by the groom's father, and groomsmen were the bride's brother, Eric McRea; Kenny Cather; and Jerry McHugh.
The bride attended Ashland University and graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in education. She is a cashier supervisor with Bed, Bath and Beyond.
The groom, a radio frequency field engineer with Dobson Cellular, graduated from YSU with a degree in computer information systems.
