YOUNGSTOWN -- The Bean Counter Cafe presents a night of fine wine and smooth jazz in Downtown Youngstown on Friday. Federal Street between Market and Champion streets will be closed during the event, which will run from 5 p.m. until 2:30 a.m.
The Bean Counter will offer a special appetizer menu along with its regular menu, as well as a full-service bar.
Bands and musicians scheduled to play are Teddy Pantelas, 5-8 p.m.; Soundoctrine, 8 p.m.-midnight; and Since 86, midnight-2:30 a.m.
Fashion exhibitfeatures Rucci works
KENT -- Chado Ralph Rucci will be a featured exhibition at the Kent State University Museum beginning Nov. 17 and running through April 23, 2006.
The exhibition will focus on the work of New York-based fashion designer Ralph Rucci.
For the past 25 years, Rucci has created some of the finest-most intricate, graceful and wearable clothes in the world. Since 1981, Rucci's label, Chado, has drawn a sophisticated international clientele. The Kent exhibit is the first major public display of his work.

Panel presentation
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Universal Cafe of First Unitarian Universalist Church presents "Faith, Values and Politics" on Monday at 7 p.m.
Dr. John Powell, director of Kerwin Center and a law professor at Ohio State, and Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray of the First Unitarian church, will present a panel on community organizing.
The church is located at the corner of Elm and Illinois, just north of Youngstown State University. Their will be an entrance fee of $3.
'Idol' auditionsscheduled for Sept. 8
NILES -- It's that time of year again as "American Idol" begins its search for the next singing sensation. The hit Fox TV show is holding auditions in the Mahoning Valley at 2 p.m. Sept. 8 at Eastwood Mall. Registration begins at noon. One finalist will be given an audition with the show's producers on Sept. 16 in Chicago. Participants must be between the ages of 16 and 28. For more information, go to www.wyfx.com.
Streaming schedules
KENT -- WKSU, 89.7 FM, has expanded its online programming by adding two channels of streaming audio.
Listeners will still be able to visit wksu.org and access the station's on-air signal as it is broadcast. Now, WKSU, a National Public Radio station, also provides two online program schedules. All three channels are available in the Now Playing area of the home page of the Web site.
Senior day at zoo
AKRON -- The Akron Zoo's annual Senior Safari will be held on Sept. 9 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Adults over 55 will be admitted to the zoo for a discounted price of $3. Seniors can enjoy the entire zoo as well as special booths and entertainment.
A variety of health care centers and senior community event booths will be set up, and the River City Jazz Band will perform. For more information, go to www.akronzoo.org.
Party in the Park
WARREN -- A music video will be filmed at a Party in Packard Park, 3 to 8 p.m. Aug. 28, at Packard Park on Mahoning Avenue. It was incorrectly reported in Thursday's FYI column that the party was to be held today.
The music video will be filmed by Gregory Films of Youngstown for a song called "A Party in Packard," produced by Greg "Dr. G" Johnson, keyboard player for the local Total Package Band.
Live entertainment will be provided by The N-DEX Band, The 51B's, and special guest Sting Ray Brooks, doing a tribute to the late Roger Troutman.
There will be a car show, games, line dancing and other outdoor events. Everyone is encouraged to bring picnic baskets for the chance to be in the music video that will be sent to major records companies and will be televised on channel 15 in Warren and channel 9 in Youngstown.
