Reception held for Johnstons on 50th anniversary

XBROOKFIELD -- Mr. and Mrs. John Johnston of Brook Drive were honored by family and friends as they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 20 during a reception held at Brookfield Fire Department Banquet Hall.
Serving as hosts for the event were their daughter, Lynn Matyas of Hubbard, and their son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Monica Johnston of Coitsville. Completing their family are four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The former Shirley Neubecker and Mr. Johnston were married Aug. 20, 1955, at Faith Lutheran Church, Youngstown.
Mr. Johnston served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was employed for many years at MacKenzie Muffler Co. and retired in 1995 from Roche Bio Medical. His wife is a homemaker.
