XYOUNGSTOWN -- Lora Furano, a daughter of Doria Furano, 8514 Ivy Hill Drive, Poland, and the late Fortunato Furano, and Dr. Lance Ferkula, a son of William Ferkula, 587 Breetz Drive, Campbell, and the late Jacquelyn Ferkula, were married at noon Aug. 20 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Monsignor Michael Cariglio and the Rev. Richard Murphy officiated. After a reception at The Georgetown in Boardman, they left for a honeymoon in Europe.
The bride's jeweled A-line gown of ivory satin featured a sweetheart neckline and cathedral train.
Coral gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Leslie Len-Meis, and the bridesmaids, Margherita Kavulla and Carol Marchionda, the bride's cousins; Regina Siqurani; Tracie Kinnick; and Jennifer Colla. Flower girl was Abby Schuster, her cousin.
Best men were the groom's brother, Erik Ferkula, and Rich Greenwalt, and groomsmen were Aris Kantaras, Dr. Jim McKey, Jerry Durch and the bride's brother, Gino Furano, who also gave her away. The usher was Frank Gamberale, her cousin.
The bride graduated from the University of Toledo with a bachelor's degree in biology and from Youngstown State University with a degree in allied health. She is a medical laboratory technician at St. Elizabeth Health Center. The groom earned a bachelor's in human biology at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and a doctorate in chiropractic at Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Mo. He is a chiropractor with a private practice in Struthers.
