Family dinner held for Halases' 60th anniversary



XBOARDMAN -- A family dinner was held at Aug. 6 at the Olive Garden to mark the 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Halase Jr., 747 Oakridge Drive.
Hosting the event were their son and daughter-in-law, John F. III and Linda Halase of Westchester.
The former Betty Horvath and Mr. Halase were united in marriage Aug. 5, 1945, at the American-Hungarian Reformed Church in Youngstown. They are members of Brownlee Woods Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Halase was employed as a bookkeeper with Chrysler Corp. and the J.N. Pincus Co. in Youngstown.
Mr. Halase retired in 1985 from LTV Steel Corp., where he was a metallurgical engineer. He served six years with the U.S. Navy during World War II, retiring as a chief quartermaster. He is a member of Western Star Lodge, Youngstown Scottish Rite, Aut Mori Grotto and the Chatterbox Club.
